Cookie policy
Last updated July 13, 2026This page explains what getclark.app stores in your browser and why. The short version: one optional analytics cookie, nothing else. It is off until you allow it.
The one cookie we ask about
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement id G-H64F0TYWPL) to see which pages work. It sets cookies only after you press Allow on the cookie banner. Until then the Google script does not even load. If you press Decline, it never loads.
Analytics without cookies
We also use Vercel Web Analytics for basic page counts. It is cookieless and stores nothing in your browser, so it runs without asking.
What lives in localStorage
Two small preferences sit in your browser's localStorage. That is local browser storage, it is not a cookie, and it is never sent to a server.
- clark-theme. Your light or dark theme choice, so the site opens the way you left it.
- clark-consent. Your cookie choice and when you made it. We remember it for about 180 days, then ask again. If this policy changes materially, we also ask again.
The language cookie
One cookie records the language you read the site in. It is strictly necessary: it stores a preference you set, so it sits outside the banner and needs no consent.
- clark-locale. The language you chose or were first served. The site sets it once from the country of your connection, then from your own choice in the language switcher. It lasts one year.
- clark-locale-hint. A session cookie that only exists when the site offers you a language instead of switching to it. It is gone when you close the browser.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline. You never see the banner and analytics stays off.
Change your mind
One click clears your stored choice and brings the banner back, on this page and everywhere else on the site.
